What service and license should I choose when creating Zoom users?

You can manage your event marketing, administration, and bookings or ticket sales in Magnet, and then host your online event in Zoom. Integrating your Magnet events with Zoom fully connects your events; of course, to integrate with Zoom, you will need to sign up for a Zoom account. Zoom offers a number of different plans. You can integrate any Zoom plan with Magnet; the Zoom plan you choose depends on the type of event you are hosting and how many participants will attend.

Zoom Meetings versus Zoom Webinars—which plan do I need?

Zoom account plans differentiate between Zoom Meetings and Zoom Webinars; to determine the plan you need, you will need to choose the appropriate format for your events. Zoom Meeting and Webinar platforms offer similar features and functionality but have some key differences related to how you share and control audio and video:

Zoom Meetings: are designed to be a collaborative event with all participants being able to screen share, turn on or off their video and audio, and see who else is in attendance. The meeting host can also control participants’ settings.

Zoom meetings are like meeting rooms, perfect when you want to host more interactive gatherings with audience participation, or gatherings in smaller groups. Choose it for small-to-medium groups, customer-oriented meetings, sales meetings, training sessions, etc.

Zoom Webinars: are designed so that the host and any designated panelists can share their video, audio and screen. Webinars allow view-only attendees. Attendees have the ability to interact via Q&A, Chat, and answering polling questions. The host can also choose to unmute specific attendees or disable them. In webinars, attendees cannot change their names.

Zoom webinars are more like virtual lecture halls or auditoriums. Webinars are perfect for large audiences or for larger events that are open to the public. Choose it for large events and public appearances with more than 50 participants, including lectures, performances, etc.

For more details, see the Zoom Meeting and Webinar comparison.

Zoom Licenses: On Zoom, licenses govern the maximum number of participants per event and the duration of the event in time. Choose from: BASIC, PRO, BUSINESS and ZOOM UNITED BUSINESS. The higher up you go, the more features and participants you get.

Meeting Plan: 100 – 1000 participants, depending on the license.
Webinar Plan: 100 – 10,000 participants, depending on the license.
